Hay Bale

Hay is grown specifically as animal feed. It's nitrogen rich, fibrous and full of nutrients and can be used all the year round as animal feed. Hay is more compact and weighs heavier than straw. Hay is not good for mulching in the garden and can actually encourage weeds.
